Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

1. Introduction

This policy explains what information AI Teacher ("we", "us") collects when you use our voice-based AI tutoring service, why we collect it, and how it's protected. By using AI Teacher, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

Account information: your email address, and a name if you provide one at sign-up or through Google sign-in. If you sign up with a password, we store it as a one-way cryptographic hash — we never store or can see your actual password.

Lesson data: the topics you ask about, lesson transcripts, whiteboard content, quiz questions and results, and your learning progress (streaks, points, badges) — so you can revisit past lessons and track how you're doing.

Billing information: if you purchase a plan, our payment processor (Razorpay) handles your payment details directly — we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, never your card or bank details.

Technical information: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and your IP address when submitting forms protected by CAPTCHA (used only for spam/abuse prevention).

3. How we use your information

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Children's privacy

AI Teacher is designed to be used by school-age students, including children. We collect only what's needed to run lessons and track progress, described above. We encourage parents and guardians to be involved in younger children's use of the service. If you're a parent or guardian and want to review, update, or delete your child's information, contact us using the details below.

5. Third-party services we use

Each of these providers processes data only as needed to provide their part of the service, under their own privacy terms.

6. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. It's not used for advertising or cross-site tracking, and we don't run third-party ad-tracking scripts.

7. Data security

Passwords are stored using bcrypt password hashing. Sign-in sessions and password-reset links use randomly generated tokens that are themselves hashed before being stored, so a database compromise alone couldn't be used to sign in as you. The production service is served over HTTPS.

8. Data retention & deletion

We keep your account and lesson data for as long as your account is active. We don't currently offer automatic self-service account deletion — to request deletion or a copy of your data, email us and we'll process it manually.

9. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by contacting us below. We'll respond as quickly as we reasonably can.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
